Sen. Ekwunife tells Electorate to pursue performance-driven Representation
Chukwuka Ugokwe, Awka.
The Senator representing Anambra Central District, Sen. Uche Ekwunife, has called on the electorate to be guided by the performance of serving political office holders to enable them make informed choices during the polls.
She insisted that politicians jostling to be elected must subject themselves to public scrutiny, even as evidences of her effective representation abound in the Senatorial District.
The lawmaker, who was addressing Association of Past Presidents General of Anambra Central Zone in Awka, said she was seeking their mandate to return to the Upper Legislative Chamber as its President.
While lamenting poor representation by some legislators, she asked the electorate to interrogate their track records to prove justification for their aspirations and refuse to be deceived by mere promises.
“My political record which dates back to House of Representatives for eight years would add to qualify me as a ranking member to seek for Senate Presidency, if voted into office,” said Sen. Ekwunife.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Association, Hon. Ozo Okonkwo, encouraged candidates to campaign with harmony and shun politics of bitterness and rancour:
“Let your campaign be issue-based and not the other way round.
“We are watching you and praying that the electorate shall elect for us good people that will impart positive changes to the lives of our people for better Anambra.”
