The Senator representing Ebonyi North Senatorial district, Dr Sam Egwu has called on Nigerians to shun electoral violence and embrace peace.

Senator Egwu made the call during the thanksgiving service of Izhia Christian Union, where he campaigned for peace in Nigeria, at his country home, Umebe in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State Southeast Nigeria.

He said “if truly you are of God who is universally known for peace, there is no reason for you to see vices as the final option or solution for any problem.”

He advised all politicians to put their trust in God and avoid other smaller gods that can start demanding for human sacrifices.

Let me tell you, there is no power above God. Nobody should deceive you into seeking for political power from smaller gods which will demand what you cannot afford.”

“From my first day in politics till date, and all the enviable positions that I have held, starting from Commissioner, Governor, Minister and now Senator, I have never visited smaller gods for powers. I get my powers from God almighty in heaven. That has been my footrest,” Egwu said.

The Chairman Planning Committee of Izhia Christian Union’s Prayer summit, Pastor Ifeanyi Ogala, the National President of the Union, Mrs Patricia Ede and other members of the congregation jointly prayed for the success of Sam Egwu in his Senatorial ambition and for all others contesting in the forthcoming general election.
