Seplat Energy Plc Bags SERAS Awards For Outstanding Performance

Seplat Energy Plc has emerged Best in Social Impact/Human Capacity Development at the Sustainability Enterprise and Responsibility Awards( SERAS) Africa.

The company was lauded for its corporate social investment programmes in the health, education and entrepreneurship spheres as well as the programmes’ strong impacts in Seplat Energy’s host communities and states.

It’s educational programmes were applauded for being in alignment with the United Nations sustainable development goals which aim for poverty reduction/eradication, healthy lives for all, and access to quality education.

Other companies that emerged as winners in other categories were: Airtel Nigeria, carting away the Partnership of the Year award for its continued success with its Re-imagine Education Initiative, a ground-breaking collaboration with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) aimed at transforming education in Nigeria through technology.

Lagos Free Zone, the first privately-owned free zone in Nigeria, emerged as the best infrastructure development company in Nigeria, Polaris Bank won most renowned and prestigious Sustainability/Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) recognition, for its consistent and impactful critical community interventions across Nigeria over the years while Nestlé Nigeria was recognised as the Best Company in Food Security for the third consecutive year, highlighting the company’s significant contributions to responsible local sourcing, farmer capacity building, grain quality improvement, dairy value chain development and providing sustainable affordable nutrition through research and innovation.

In addition, Nestlé Nigeria received the award for Best in Circular Economy at the SERAS Africa Sustainability Awards 2024, marking a milestone as the first company in Nigeria to achieve circularity in its production value chain.

The founder, SERAS Africa, Ken Egbas, said the awardees have shown exemplary commitment and leadership in driving sustainability across the continent; of which their contributions must be recognised, rewarded and celebrated.

The SERAS Africa is an annual project which aims to promote as well as raise awareness about the roles that organisations play with emphasis on their responsibility towards stakeholders and the social development of Africa.
