South East Human Capital Development Regional Conference Kicks-Off In Anambra

The Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo on Thursday at the International Convention Center Awka, the state capital, declared open the South East Human Capital Development (HDC), Regional Conference, with the theme: ‘Changing The Narrative Towards Entrenching Human Capital Development in South East Nigeria’.
The Governor who was represented at the two-day conference by his Deputy, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, stated that Human Capital Development is one of the five pillars of his development plan featured prominently in his manifesto.
He assured that the quality of human capital to be produced will be productive at home and exportable elsewhere.
The Deputy Governor, who is the chairman of the Anambra State Human Capital Development Council, noted that social inclusion, health and nutrition, labour force participation, gender empowerment, education and social protection are key areas that will be captured at the conference.
Dr Ibezim assured of the southeastern states becoming the enviable centre of HDC as a result of the conference. He stressed that it will boast the smart megacity the present administration is aiming at.
Dignitaries present are the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning and the focal person Miss Chiamaka Nnake, Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr Patrick Agha Mba, Commissioner for Education, Ngozi Chuma-udeh and the Commissioner for Information, Sir Paul Nwosu.
Others are the state EXCO members, representatives of civil society organizations amongst others.
