
The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Health Management Agency, Dr. Emmanuella Zamba has urged all Lagos State students to always involve themselves in various sporting activities, because its plays a vital role and promotes physical fitness in the lives of people.
Zamba disclosed this statement through her Director of finance, Aramide Ojo, in an interview with Voice of Nigeria, during the 17th annual Inter-House Sports of the Royal Master’s School in Ikeja, Lagos State, Nigeria.
The overall best in the Inter-House Sports was Green house. 2026 marked the 25th year’s existence of the Royal Master’s School.

“Sports competitions play a very vital role in the holistic development of students,” Dr Zamba said. “Under academic excellence activities like this, help to build strong characters, promote physical fitness, encourage team work.”
“It also instills discipline and teach values of life lessons such as perseverance, respect for rule and the spirit of fair play.”
She added that sports is more than just winning metals, but an opportunity to discover your strength, test your abilities and learn how to compete. She said such events usually contribute to the physical, mental and social development of our future leaders.
“Sports is an enhancement of good healthy living because it actually contributes and ensures your body system moves during exercises, it boosts the brain especially in the lives of the young ones,” she said.
“It gives the spirit of sportsmanship for healthy living. Sports and health are positively related for you to be healthy, sports is part of the requirements for healthy living.”
The Permanent Secretary of (LSHMA), also informed the role of the Lagos State Health Management agency (LSHMA) and advised Lagos State residents to use the opportunity to always go for routine check ups and carry out regular exercise to keep fit which lead to healthy living.
“We encourage everyone to enrol on the Lagos State Health Management Insurance Scheme,” she added. “The scheme is where you will be able to have affordable and quality health care services.”
“Everybody is supposed to have quality health care Irrespective of their income either rich or poor, we are all human beings and sickness can come at anytime unannounced, that is the essence of the social health insurance.”
In the same vein, the Executive Director of the Royal Master’s School, Seniorba Olatunji, advised parents to have good quality time with their children in order to discover their various talents.
She also advised that the government and parents should always appreciate talented children, because in Nigeria we are gifted and blessed.
