The Kwara Sports Commission, KSC, has held a one day workshop and seminar for coaches and secretaries of the commission on curbing doping among athletes in the state.
The move demonstrates that the KSC is not leaving anything to chance as both National Youth Games and National Sports Festival in Asaba and Abeokuta come closer.
The commission says that the conference among coaches and secretaries of the sports body is necessary.
According to the Director of Sports, Mallam Ibrahim Bako, the key personnels in the commission are urged to take maximum advantage of the seminar.
A sports and anti doping expert, Mr Femi Ayorinde who was the resource person at the seminar/workshop disclosed that the programme is meant at enlightening the Commission’s officials who are directly in charge of the athletes as the National Youth Games draws closer on anti droping rules.
Athletics Federation of Nigeria, AFN, recently lifted the ban it placed on the state for harbouring an athletic coach who was suspended for allegedly doping a young athlete.
