The Ministry of Defence has commissioned three state-of-the-art 30-seater buses to boost the welfare of its staff at the ministry’s headquarters, Ship House, Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, who commissioned the vehicles, reiterated the federal government’s commitment to boosting the welfare of staff by providing incentives that would motivate them to be committed to their work.

The permanent secretary said the buses were provided to support and augment the welfare of staff, to implement the Federal Civil Service Strategic and Implementation Plan (FCSSIP) reforms in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 8-Point ‘Renewed Hope’ Agenda.
“The buses would ease transportation logistics that will contribute to a positive and motivated workforce.
“As we celebrate this milestone, the ministry reiterates its commitment to supporting the welfare and professional growth of the staff.
“A log book would be attached to the well trained drivers in order to ensure maintenance and sustainability of the bus scheme, which I hope will continue to increase in number,” said the permanent secretary while expressing gratitude to the staff for their unwavering dedication to work.
The highpoint of the event was the test run of one of the buses by the permanent secretary.
