Stakeholders in Nigeria have called for collaborations between the government, private sector and non-governmental organizations that is pivotal in creating enabling environment and attracting climate investment.
The call was made at the Africa Infrastructure and Climate Summit, AICIS, in Abuja, Nigeria.
Speaking at the summit, the convener Mr. Moses Owharo said the aim of the summit was to proffer lasting solutions to climate change impacts.
“Our collective vision is to leave a legacy of sustainable and prosperity for present and future generation,” he said.

Representing Nigeria’s President, Bola Tinubu, the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), Senator, George Akume, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary Political and Economic Affairs at the OSGF, Mr. Gagare Nadungu, reiterated the government’s commitment to advancing sustainable development.
Mr. Nadungu urged participants at the event to chart practical pathways that led to climate change solutions.
“This summit provides us with a unique platform to engage and chart ideas and forge partnerships that will drive transformative change across our continent. Your presence here reflects our shared advancement to advancing sustainable development,” he said
The Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of Congo to Nigeria, Amb. Pascaline Yakivu pledged her country’s commitment to shared solution to climate change effects on the continent.
Similarly, the Cuban Ambassador to Nigeria, Miriam Morales noted that the Cuban government was committed to partnering with Africa and particularly, Nigeria in ensuring a future free from climate impact.
