The Federal Information Centre in Gombe State has hosted a town hall meeting to review the performance of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, with stakeholders commending its reforms and progress across key sectors.
The event, themed “Tinubu Administration: The Mid-Term Report,” brought together participants from diverse fields who highlighted achievements in governance, infrastructure, education, power, and economic development, particularly in the North-East.
Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mallam Mohammed Idris, represented by the Head of the Centre, Mr. Abdulkarim Bello, reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to transparency and impactful reforms under President Tinubu.
“For the first time in our nation’s history, universities have completed academic sessions without any strike action. That alone is a landmark achievement which underscores this administration’s commitment to the educational future of our youth,” the Minister stated.
He further noted improvements in the power sector, citing the addition of 1,500 megawatts to the national grid within the past two years as evidence of the administration’s focus on infrastructure and economic stability.
Other speakers echoed his remarks, describing the mid-term review as proof of President Tinubu’s results-driven leadership.
Mr. Saifullah Waziri, Focal Person for Gombe State’s iDICE Project, praised the government’s economic reforms, pointing to reduced food prices and improved security in the North-East as signs of progress.
Sadiq Ahmed, Chairman of the Forum of Heads of Federal Ministries and Organisations, commended the President for sustaining and completing inherited projects while initiating new ones, including the Federal Medical Centre in Kumo and the Federal College of Education for Special Needs.
Gombe State Commissioner for Information, Mijinyawa Ahmed, said the mid-term achievements reflected a strong commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy. He added that Governor Inuwa Yahaya was replicating the same model at the state level, recording notable progress in infrastructure, education, and digital innovation.
