Stock Investors gain N26b to sustain bullish trend

The market capitalisation on the Nigerian Exchange equities market advanced by N26 billion on Thursday to maintain the bullish trend which began on Wednesday.

This is even as 19 stocks appreciated and 8 stocks declined at the end of the trading session.

The all share index rose by 0.13% or 50.41 points to close at 38,615.11 compared to 38,564.70 on Wednesday.

Champion breweries led the gainers with N0.18k gain to close at N1.98k,followed by Wapic Insurance with N0.05k gain to close at N0.58k and Lasaco Assurance with N0.11k gain to close at N1.50k.

On the losing side, Consolidated Hallmark Insurance came out last with a loss of N0.06k to close at N0.61k per share, followed by Unitybank which lost N0.02k to close at N0.55k and Sterling Bank which lost N0.03k to close at N1.54k.

Wema Bank recorded the highest volume of 27.2 million traded shares followed by Mutual Benefits Assurance with 21.39 million shares.

At the end of the day’s trading ,investors traded a total of 160,439,651 shares in 3,260 deals ,corresponding to a market value of N1.39 billion.
