Equities trading on the Nigerian Stock Exchange closed negative on Thursday as investors could not sustain the gains recorded on Wednesday.
The market capitalisation depreciated by N25 billion to close at N21,499 trillion as against N21.524 trillion on Wednesday.
The all share index also dropped 0.12% being 47.57 points to close at 41, 099.15 points compared to 41, 147.72 points on Wednesday.
The market sentiment was also negative as it closed with 50 losers as against 14 gainers.
MRS led the losers table as it closed at N12.40k after a N1.35k loss. Cadbury was next with a loss of N1.05k to close at N9.75k followed by Flour mill which lost 90k to close at N31.60k.
Conversely, WAPCO gained N1.45k to close at N27.95k to led the gainers chart, followed by NNFM with 88k gain to to close at N968k. Then Ardova gained 70k to close at N20.45k.
Transcorp was the toast of investors on Thursday as it traded 428,291 million shares valued at N559.209 million and it was followed by Guaranty which sold 62,054 million shares worth N2.047 billion.
