Super Eagles Defender Calvin Bassey Joins Fulham From Ajax
Super Eagles of Nigeria defender Calvin Bassey has joined Premier League club Fulham from Ajax on a four-year deal, the London club announced.
Bassey, has 10 appearances after making his debut for Nigeria in 2022. The 23-year-old joined Ajax from Rangers last summer and made 39 appearances for the Dutch side, scoring 1 goal and recording 5 assists in the 2022/2023 season.

“I know how big a club Fulham is,” Bassey said in an interview. “They always have quality players, they’re playing in the Premier League, the best league in the world, so I didn’t have to think much about it.”
Bassey has won the Scottish Premier League and Scottish Cup with Rangers. He also featured in the 2022 Europa League final when they were beaten on penalties by German club Eintracht Frankfurt.
The Nigerian now joins Fulham, who finished 10th last season for their first top-half Premier League finish since 2012.
Fulham also completed the signing of Mexican striker Raul Jimenez from Wolves.
