Super Eagles’ Victory Boosts Nigeria’s Cultural Diplomacy

Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has congratulated the Super Eagles on their victory over Algeria, describing it as a boost to national morale and a reaffirmation of Nigeria’s excellence in international sports.

In a statement issued by the spokesperson of the Ministry, Mr. Kimiebi Ebienfa, the Ministry said football remains a key pillar of Nigeria’s cultural diplomacy and an important tool for projecting national values such as unity, resilience and fair play, while enhancing the country’s global image.

The Ministry also commended businessman Abdul-Samad Rabiu, for pledging incentives to the team, describing the gesture as a reflection of responsible citizenship and private sector support for Nigeria’s soft power.

This commendable act reflects responsible national citizenship and underscores the constructive role of the private sector in advancing Nigeria’s soft power, national cohesion, and international goodwill.” It read

As the Super Eagles advance to the semi-finals, the Ministry urged Nigerian missions and diaspora communities worldwide to promote the achievement as a symbol of national unity and international engagement.

The Ministry also assured the Super Eagles of the full support of the government and people of Nigeria, while wishing the team continued success as they represent the nation with pride and honour.
