Suspended Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has reiterated his commitment to maintaining peace and stability in the state, stating that no sacrifice or concession is too great to achieve this goal.

According to a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Nelson Chukwudi, he emphasised the need for peace and stability in the state.

He acknowledged the pivotal role played by Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, in his emergence as Governor.

Fubara lamented the impact of the political crisis on governance, citing delays in development projects and programs across the state.

However, he expressed optimism that the pace of project implementation would soon pick up with the reconciliation achieved.

The suspended Governor disclosed that President Bola Tinubu had personally intervened, giving a clear directive that both he and his Principal should reconcile for the sake of Rivers State’s peace and progress.

Fubara urged all who believe in his leadership and vision to embrace peace and allow the state to recover and move forward, emphasising that tough sacrifices and concessions are necessary for the peace and stability of Rivers State.

The statement quoted Fubara as saying, “If you genuinely believe in this struggle, you will know that we have done what we need to do… The only solution is peace. I have said it repeatedly that there is no price too big to pay for peace in the State. I meant it, and I am still ready to follow through on it to the end.”
