The 14th NNPC Ltd Sports Fiesta came to a close on Saturday at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, with Team Integrity emerging overall champions after topping the final medals table of the week-long competition.

Team Integrity, comprising athletes from the Company’s Port Harcourt and Benin Zones, clinched the top position with 31 gold, 18 silver, and 21 bronze medals, as well as nine trophies.

Team Sustainability, representing the Abuja and Kaduna Zones, finished second with 15 gold, 26 silver and 23 bronze medals, while Team Excellence from the Lagos and Warri Zones placed third with 13 gold, 16 silver and 19 bronze medals.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, the Group CEO of NNPC Limited, Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, praised the athletes’ performance, describing it as a strong reminder that NNPC Ltd can excel both on the field and in the marketplace through resilience, teamwork, and excellence.

He noted that NNPC Ltd now looks forward to defending its “legendary status” at the upcoming 20th Nigeria Oil & Gas Industry Games (NOGIG), scheduled for February 2026. He expressed confidence that athletes who excelled at the fiesta will carry the Company’s winning legacy forward.

“Let the discipline you showed throughout these games elevate our performance; let the unity you built here strengthen our teamwork; let the excellence you demonstrated become our daily standard,” Ojulari said.

This 14th edition of the NNPC Sports Fiesta, themed “Energy in Motion: Compete, Connect & Celebrate,” featured 450 athletes, underscoring the Company’s commitment to promoting physical well-being as a driver of productivity.

Participants competed across 13 sporting events including football, basketball, volleyball, chess, squash, scrabble, 8-ball pool, golf, tennis, table tennis, badminton, swimming and athletics.

The fiesta also served as a talent pipeline for selecting NNPC Ltd’s potential representatives for the upcoming NOGIG Games, where the Company will defend its longstanding title as overall champion—a position it has consistently maintained over the years.
