Tinubu/Shettima Agenda: Kwara First Lady meets with Local Government bosses

The First Lady of Kwara State and Founder Ajike People Support Center,  Ambassador Olufolake Abdulrazaq has met with the 16 Transition Implementation Committee (TIC) Chairmen and their deputies in the State.

The First Lady at the meeting spoke about the role of  Local Governments in getting the modalities of  elections to the people as they are the closest to the grassroots.

During the brainstorming session which involved comments and discussions, the First Lady asked for challenges and enumerated the election strategy of the Tinubu/Shettima Women campaign team as well as strategy for the re election of the state Governor, Abdul Rahman Abdulrazaq and stated that it is important to have campaign slogans and messages reaching the grassroots effectively.

Ambassador Abdulrazaq during the meeting also discussed the State’s strategy which had commenced with the town hall meetings by the Governor and door to door campaigns and getting messages out on the achievements of the state government .

The Local Government executives were enjoined  to involve the Monarchs who are close to the grassroots and to intensify awareness on the need for people to go and collect their permanent voters cards in their respective LGAs.

Ambassador Abdulrazaq  urged the chairmen to always include and support women in their programmes and activities adding that the role of women in the forthcoming elections can not be overemphasized.

Earlier, the Chairman of Association of Local Governments of Nigeria,  Kwara State chapter and TIC Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government,  Mr. Jide Asonibare thanked Ambassador AbdulRazaq  for her support particularly to the women and youth in the State.

Mr. Asonibare also commended Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for his support to all Local Governments across the State adding that people at the grassroots are committed to the reelection of the governor and indeed all the candidates of the APC in the forthcoming elections.

The chairmen, however, promised to give their support to ensure that people get their permanent voters cards while unanimously committing to the success of the party and all it’s candidates in the forthcoming elections.

The brainstorming session was held at the instance of the First Lady of Kwara State , Ambassador Dr Olufolake Abdulrazaq.
