Tottenham Holds Manchester City At The Etihad Stadium
A 90th-minute equaliser from Swedish International Dejan Kulusevski was enough to earn Tottenham Hotspur a 3-3 draw against Manchester City in a highly entertaining encounter at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester, England.
The home side featured Erling Haaland in attack, with Jeremy Doku and Phil Foden supporting on the wings. The visitors started with Heung-min Son up-front, while Bryan Gil and Brennan Johnson were on the flanks.
Tottenham Forward Son scored at both ends, first from a 6th minute strike before the Asian put the ball in the back of his own net, for an own-goal.
Winger Phil Foden appeared to put Manchester City in control after finding the net in the 31st minute. From then on the home side created more chances to score, but came up short as the scoreline stayed 2-1 at halftime.
In the second half, Giovani Lo Celso made them pay midway through the second half after his brilliant curling strike went beyond the reach of Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson.
Manchester City winger Jack Grealish looked to have come off the bench to seal victory for the Premier League champions after scoring in the 81st minute. 3-2!!!
However, more was to come in this game of high drama, brilliant football and amazing goal celebrations.
Tottenham winger Kulusevski had the final say as he scored the equaliser in the 90th minute of the thrilling encounter at the Etihad Stadium. The goal sent the fans in the stadium into a frenzy as there was yet another twist in the match.
There was time for more drama when referee Simon Hooper elected to stop play for a foul on Haaland after briefly seeming to have played on. The decision denied Grealish the chance to race clear on goal and sparked angry scenes from the City players. However, the match finished in 3-3.
The draw ends Tottenham Hotspur’s run of three consecutive defeats and also halted Manchester City’s charge up the Premier League table.
