Tourism: Edo Community to hold Cultural Festival in December

The Fugar Community in Edo State is set to hold this year’s edition of Fugar Cultural Festival, in December as part of efforts to explore tourism as a revenue earner in the State.

 

 

This was made known in a press release signed by Barth Ikiebe, Chairman, Publicity and Marketing Subcommittee, FCF, 2022.

According to him, the fourth edition of Fugar Cultural Festival, with the theme, “Showcasing Our Rich Cultural Heritage and Ethics”, is scheduled to hold from the 23rd to 27th December, 2022.

The Chairman, Planning Committee, Mr Solomon Obomighie, says the Fugar Cultural Festival , Organised by the community socio-political group, Fugar Progressive Union, FPU, is aimed at promoting the rich cultural potentials and developing several tourists sites for patronage.

“Fugar, as the center of activities in Edo North during festive periods, will use the five days period to showcase cultural dance/display, picnic sites visitation, Age Grade Wrestling Competition, Launching of Fugar Exhibition Resource Centre and Unveiling of Fugar Artefacts”. 

Solomon further explained that, all branches of Fugar Progressive Union Worldwide, will be involved in the cultural fiesta and Parade along with over 50 local Age Groups.

“Some of the centre of attractions include, visit to several tourists sites, Camp Fire Nite, Exhibition of Fugar Artefacts and Cultural display at the Grand Finale.”

Also Dignitaries from all walks of life including Senior Government officials at State and Federal levels, Diplomats, Captains of Industries and Celebrities have all confirmed their readiness to grace the Fugar Cultural Carnival.
