The Minister of Transportation, Senator Said Alkali, has condemned the tragic incident that occurred at the Al Adum Jummuat mosque in the Gamboru market area of Borno State, Northeast Nigeria.
The condemnation was contained in a press statement issued by the Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Office of the Minister of Transportation, Mr Umar Alkali Jibril.
Describing the incident as “barbaric and inhumane,” the Minister maintained that peace is the bedrock of any meaningful development globally.

He also commiserated with the government and people of Borno State over the unfortunate incident, praying for the repose of the deceased and the swift recovery of those who sustained injuries.
A preliminary report from the state police command indicates that five people lost their lives, while thirty-five others sustained varying degrees of injuries and are receiving treatment at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital and the State Specialist Hospital in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
