Trinity College, Onitsha, Anambra State, south eastern Nigeria, has emerged overall winner at the National Girls STEM Summit and Exhibition held recently in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
The National Girls STEM Summit, organised annually by the Federal Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation in partnership with private and international agencies, seeks to bridge gender gaps in STEM disciplines by encouraging girls’ participation and leadership in scientific research and innovation.
The event brought together leading girls’ schools from across the country to promote gender inclusion, creativity, and innovation in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
Representing the South-East zone alongside Regina Pacis International Secondary School, Onitsha, the Trinity College team distinguished itself through ingenuity, teamwork, and scientific excellence.
Their innovative project and presentation captivated judges and underscored the school’s growing reputation as a cradle of academic brilliance and moral formation.

The Most Rev. Valerian Maduka Okeke, Catholic Archbishop of Onitsha and proprietor of the Archdiocesan school system, congratulated the students and their mentors for their outstanding achievement.
In a message following the announcement, Archbishop Okeke praised their “faith-inspired commitment to excellence,” adding that the victory highlights “the transformative power of education rooted in discipline, creativity, and the fear of God.”
“We thank God for this great achievement,” Archbishop Okeke said. “Our young girls are proving that with faith, hard work, and proper mentorship, there is no limit to what they can accomplish, in science or in life.”

Trinity College’s latest triumph adds to a long list of achievements by schools under the Archdiocese of Onitsha, widely regarded as one of the most successful education networks in West Africa.
