University of Ibadan to re-start process for Vice Chancellor appointment

The University of Ibadan in Oyo State, South West Nigeria is to re-start the processes of appointing a substantive vice chancellor.
The decison follows the resolve reached by the Governing Council of the institution a meeting held last Friday.
A statement by the Registrar and Secretary to the Council, Mrs Olubunmi Faluyi, said the Council decided to cancel the previous exercise and start the entire process afresh.
“This is to inform the University community and the general public that, at its meeting on Friday, 02 July, 2021 the Governing Council considered, among other things, the appointment of a substantive Vice-Chancellor for the University.
“Council decided to cancel the previous exercise and start the entire process afresh.
“Consequently, Council directed that the position of the Vice-Chancellor be re-advertised immediately.
“The Directorate of Public Communication has been directed to do the needful in this regard,” the statement read in part.
