Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has approved Friday, 29 July 2022 as Work-Free day.

Governor Yahaya said the day was declared work free so that civil servants and other citizens can register in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

It will be recalled that Nigeria’s electoral body, INEC had on June 25, 2022, extended the Continuous Voter Registration, CVR deadlin to July 31, 2022, after appeals from various quarters for its extension, to enable more people get their Permanent Voter’s Card ahead of the 2023 General Elections.

A statement by the Head of the Gombe State Civil Service, Mr. Bappayo Yahaya, said all Public Office Holders and the entire civil servants should use the opportunity to mobilise others to register before the expiration of the CVR, which is on July 31, 2022.

The circular appealed to the affected group of people for strict compliance with the directives.
