Voting ends in Otukpo LGA of Benue State

Voting has ended and sorting of ballot papers begins in some polling units in Otukpo local government Area Benue State north-central Nigeria.

 

Though there were hitches with the BVas machines and late arrivals of INEC officials.

 

Also some electorates said there were challenges identifying their voting units as a result of some changes made by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC by creating new polling units and moving the electorates to new polling units.

 

Speakings with Voice of Nigeria in an interview at Otukpo local government Area,  a party agent,  Ada Ocheme said “the conduct of the election was peaceful, fair and credible.

 

” The election in this polling unit is peaceful and no vote buying, even the issue of the cash swap affected voting buying as the political parties and their candidate couldn’t give money out and transfer limited also people are tired of empty promises and want change and a better democracy in Nigeria,” he said

 

Similarly, Mr. Akatu expressed his satisfaction with the general conduct of the electoral process saying “this election is the best ever, we have conducted ourselves orderly and voted our choice, we pray for the best”

Voters at polling unit 023 ward 1 Lumumba Street are waiting at the polling units as the ballot papers are been counted.
