The Super Falcons of Nigeria advanced to the quarter-finals of the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), following a 4-0 victory against Burundi on Sunday, at the Stade Moulay Hassan in Rabat, Morocco.
Nigeria will take on Cameroon’s Indomitable Lionesses in last 8 of the women’s continental football showpiece.

Randy Waldrum’s ladies scored their first goal in the 25th minute after Rasheedat Ajibade was fouled by Burundi goalkeeper inside the box.
The Atletico Madrid forward stepped up to take the spot kick and fired the ball beyond the reach of Burundi’s goalkeeper for Nigeria’s first goal.
Peace Efih made it 2-0 three minutes later minute as the Super Falcons were determined to assert their superiority. Uchenna Kanu got her name on the scoresheet in the 29th and added another in the second half as the Falcons blew their opponents away in brilliant fashion.

The victory ensures that Nigeria will face Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon in the quarter-final.
Winners of the four quarter-final matches will qualify for 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
