The Theatre Command headquarters in Maiduguri Borno State has highlighted the success achieved in the war against insurgency in north-eastern Nigeria.

The Theatre Commander Operation Hadin Kai, Major General Christopher Musa gave the highlights in an exclusive interview with voice of Nigeria.

Major General Musa said, “I assumed office as the Theatre Commander on the 18th of June 2021 i took over from the present Chief of Army Staff he was then the Theatre Commander.

“There was a process even before I came in, so most of the successes we have achieved now were some of the things he had laid-down because he was here for over a year.”

“We continued from that aspect and we took it further. We remain focused and committed and stick to plan operations conducted all over the Theatre, as you are aware operation Hadin kai involves three states, Borno Yobe, and Adamawa state. We are conducting operations simultaneously to ensure we do not give them the ability to hide because once you do an operation here they move to another area and when you pull out they return.”

PUBLIC CO-OPERATION TOWARDS SUSTAINING A GOOD RAPPORT

He said: “Indigene of those affected area of the insurgents are giving us the best of information and good cooperation, the difference between conventional and none conventional war is that non conventional is a war that you actually don’t know your enemy, so you have to understand the environment you are operating, and community members needs to be with us, which  without their support success might be difficult.

“What we do now is the kinetic and the none kinetic approach the none kinetic is basically humanitarian which involves addressing issues of poverty, health issues and making sure that the citizen are with the troops and also seeking media aid, medium such as Voice of Nigeria (VON) to appreciate what the communities are doing.

“Now we get information as quick as anything is happening all over the Theatre and our response is immediate with the help of the communities.”
