The Minister of the Nigerian Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Nyesom Wike, has felicitated the residents of the FCT, especially the Muslim Ummah, on the celebration of Eid-il-Fitr, which signals the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

Wike, in a statement he signed and made available to Journalists in Abuja, commended the residents of the FCT for their acts of charity, kindness, and generosity towards one another throughout the holy month.

He added that their commitment to supporting the less privileged, fostering community bonds, and spreading love and peace is truly admirable.

He urged all residents to continue to embody these noble virtues even beyond Ramadan, as they are essential to building a harmonious and prosperous society.

Wike, who explained further that FCT is the center of unity of the nation, noted that our collective responsibility is to uphold and exhibit that unity at all times.

He called on resident to live in peace and harmony, respecting one another irrespective of religious or ethnic differences, and work together for the common good.

“On behalf of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), I extend my heartfelt felicitations to the residents of the FCT, especially the Muslim Ummah, on the celebration of Eid il Fitr, which signals the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

“Ramadan is a period of deep spiritual reflection, self-discipline, and an opportunity to draw closer to Almighty Allah (SWT). I pray that the Almighty, in His infinite mercy, accepts all our acts of worship, supplications, and sacrifices during the blessed month and rewards us abundantly with His divine blessings,” he stated.

He also assured that the FCT Administration remains steadfast in its commitment to the infrastructural development of the Territory, as well as the welfare and security of all residents.

The Minister reiterated the desire of the administration to continue to prioritize policies and initiatives that enhance the quality of life in the FCT, ensuring a safe and conducive environment for all.

He enjoined every resident to continue to pray for the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and all leaders at various levels of governance in the Federal Capital Territory.

According to him, ” The task of building a Territory that reflects our collective dreams—one of peace, prosperity, and unity—is immense, and we need your support, faith, and most importantly, your prayers, for divine wisdom and guidance in the task of building an FCT of which we all will be proud.”

Wike said as residents of the nation’s capital, we must all take responsibility for ensuring peace and stability in our communities.

He then called on the residents to resist any attempt by individuals or groups seeking to create disharmony within the ranks or disrupt the peace they cherish.

“Let us remain united and not allow anyone to sow seeds of division or instigate public disturbance. Security is a collective duty, and I encourage everyone to promptly report any suspicious activities to the relevant authorities. For it is only in an atmosphere of peace that we can all realise our collective and individual dreams. Let us therefore through vigilance and cooperation work to keep our city safe.

“Once again, I wish you all a happy, peaceful, memorable and blessed Eid-il-Fitr,” he emphasized.
