Women advocate consistency to break gender bias

Women have been encouraged to remain focused and consistent in all they do to make meaningful impact in all spheres of life and break existing biases.

Th admonition came from various women “storytellers” at the Women in Management, Business and Public Service( WIMBIZ) International Women’s Day celebration.

The hybrid event which took place in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt had selected women from different spheres of life tagged “storytellers” share their stories on how they have broken biases against women in their various sectors.

One of the storytellers at the event, the Managing Director , ARM Investment Managers, Kai Orga urged women not to give up on creating value but continue to be readily available when needed as that was the only way to make something out of life.

Orga also advocated for deliberate change of mindset which according to her was “key” to advancement.

Another Storyteller, the former Director, Special Duties at the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA, Lami Tumaka, while emphasising on the need for consistency said there was equal opportunities for all and urged women at all levels to come out from their shells and make use of the opportunities.

Tumaka said women must learn to conquer the power of the mind as well because  ” if you feel sorry for yourself, you will not achieve anything…….do not allow your scars hold you hostage”.

Content creator, Boma Bliss also gave a poem rendition encouraging women not to give up but rather build on their uniqueness.

Other story tellers at the event included Sheffy Kolade, CEO Boxes and Baskets Ltd., Marvis Mashall Idio, CEO Jacmarvis Nig Ltd and Leticia Betrand, President, Kingsarch Global Leadership Consulting.
