Zamalek Faces Al Ahly In African Women’s Volleyball Finale

The 2025 African Women’s Volleyball Club Championship final will be an all Egyptian finale, as defending champions, Zamalek will battle local rivals Al Ahly as the two week long event ends on Sunday.

Zamalek beat Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) 3-2; (25-23, 28-26, 19-25, 24-26, 15-12) in the first semi-final of the Championship holding in Abuja.

It was a semi final to remember as the match lived up to billings with the Kenyans enjoying the support of spectators at the stand who were hailing every move, strike and shot of the KPC ladies.

Dubbed as a game of experience, grit, wit and power, the semi final clearly showed that the game of volleyball is developing in the continent as stakeholders commended the display of both teams saying Africa will have good representation at the World Cup later in the year.

Zamalek will be playing in their third consecutive final, having won the last two editions in 2023 and 2024.

The second semi-final was a sweeping victory for Al-Ahly as they defeated CFC 3-0 (25-15, 25-23, 25-21) on Friday to ensure Egypt’s strong hold on the women’s volleyball club championship.

The victory also ensured that momentum remains firmly with Al- Ahly as they head into the Sunday final full of confidence.

Meanwhile, as Friday’s semi-final win for record holders Al Ahly sets the Egyptians for Gold medal match, the CFC of Tunisia will now battle for the Bronze medal against the Kenyan Pipeline Company.
