This is one of the technical trainings to guide the younger generation. Also, the International Handball Federation has stated that you cannot practice without having the ‘D’ license to practice,” he added.

He further called on the leadership of the National Sports Commission (NSC) to give equal support to other sports federations, especially the Handball Federation.

Resource person Ryan Almeida described Nigeria as a potential hub for the growth of handball in the entire continent of Africa.

The Angolan, who commended the participants, said the coaches have displayed a lot of zeal, which he finds key to the successful application of what they have learned during this period.

It’s been days of hard work, a lot of work and intensive training, theoretical and practical activities, and also written exams. IHF has a very good development plan or project for the growth of handball in Nigeria. Nigeria has potential because it has a lot of people and the growth of hardball in Africa. My work has been to teach them the scientific side of handball because they know a lot about handball, and they have talent,” he said.

A total of 16 coaches, 8 male and 8 female, took part in the week-long exercise where they were awarded with an IHF D coaching license.
