Voters in Bauchi State, North East Nigeria, have hinted that the Central Bank of Nigeria’s cashless policy has helped to strengthen the electoral process across the country.

Speaking to Voice of Nigeria after casting their votes in some selected polling units monitored in the Bauchi local government Area, some of the electorates said the process was peaceful because most of the politicians don’t have access to cash to recruit thugs to distract the process.

Voice of Nigeria also observed that the peaceful atmosphere experienced during the elections was extended to all the twenty local government Areas of the State.

They also hailed the use of the Bimodal Voters Accreditation System, BVAS, as contained in the 2022 electoral Act which they said made the process easy and fast.

Meanwhile, the Presidential and National Assembly elections have ended and the counting of votes is ongoing at the various collation centres across all the twenty local government areas of bauchi State.

While the results of the winners of the National Assembly will be declared at the various State level, the presidential results will be transmitted to the National Collation Centre in Abuja, Nigeria to be reconciled by the INEC Chairman.
