2023: Nigeria’s Transport Union directs members to get PVCs

The National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, has directed members in the 36 states, including the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja, to get their Permanent Voters’ Cards, PVCs ahead of the 2023 general election. 

In a statement titled, GET YOUR PVCs, signed by the union’s president, Alhaji Tajudeen Baruwa, he directed all state chairmen to ensure union members in their respective States get their PVCs accordingly. It would enable them to exercise their franchise in the coming election.

The statement read: “the union plays a vital role in the nation’s electoral process being in partnership with Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

“It is, therefore, imperative that union members participate actively and effectively in electing credible leaders that will determine the fate of teeming members of the union and the entire nation.

“All the state councils are directed to ensure that members of the union, their families and friends across the 36 states, all the 774 local government councils, take advantage of the continuous voters’ registration (CVRs) extension exercise to get their permanent voters cards.

“It will enable them to vote for candidates of their choice in the coming elections.”

He directed that all state chairmen ensure that all union members in their state carry out the directive.
