Kaduna Residents Applaud Government on Release of Kuriga students

Kaduna residents are expressing their gratitude towards the state government and security agencies for their relentless efforts in securing the safe release of the abducted students from Kuriga community in Chukun Local Government Area.

Voices from the community, as reported by the Voice of Nigeria (VON), highlight how the release underscores the government’s dedication to safeguarding the lives of all residents in the state.

Ibrahim Adamu, residing in Kawo, voiced optimism regarding the state government’s ongoing commitment to tackling insecurity. He emphasized the importance of citizens actively supporting these efforts by providing crucial information to enhance security measures across the state.

Similarly, Fatima Umar, a resident of Kakuri, stressed the necessity for constant vigilance among residents to preempt any potential security threats. This collective awareness and proactive engagement, she emphasised, are essential in preventing similar incidents from occurring in the future.

Special Intervention Squad

Meanwhile, about 200 IGP Special Intervention Squad arrived Kaduna in less than 24 hours after residents of the state received the good news about the rescue of the students.

Governor Uba Sani while receiving the special contingent at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim House on Sunday expressed appreciation to the Inspector General of Police, Mr Kayode Egbetekun for fulfilling his promise on the deployment of the Squad.

He also expressed appreciation to the Federal Government, particularly President Bola Ahmad Tinubu and the security agencies for the successful rescue of the kidnapped Kuriga school children.

The reception of the IGP Special Intervention Squad came while the rescued School Children were being expected at Kaduna Government House.

Recall, the IGP, Kayode Egbetokun had during a visit to the state after the kidnapped of the school children hinted at deploying a special mobile force to tackle the menace of insecurity bedevilling the state.

The squad is armed with Armoured Personal Carriers, otherwise known as APCs, and other sophisticated weapons and is expected to be deployed to troubled areas like Birnin Gwari, Chikun, and Kajuru among others.
