In a move to deepen international trade relations and promote institutional collaboration, the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) has engaged the St. Kitts and Nevis Chamber of Industry and Commerce ahead of the 2025 Investment Gateway Summit.
A statement by ACCI’s Media & Strategy Officer Olayemi John-Mensah said, the engagement took place at the headquarters of the St. Kitts and Nevis Chamber in Basseterre, prior to the formal opening of the Summit at the Marriott Hotel
According to the statement, discussions focused on identifying mutual interests and exploring avenues for institutional collaboration.
“Key areas of interest included the structure and impact of the ACCI’s Business Entrepreneurship Skills and Technology (BEST) Centre, the operational framework of its Dispute Resolution Centre, and strategies for effective member engagement and support.”
The Chamber’s First Deputy President, Prof. Adesoji Adesugba who represented the ACCI President Dr Emeka Obegolu recommended the establishment of a formal framework for institutional collaboration, the initiation of periodic virtual meetings between both Chambers, and further delegation exchanges as next steps.
“There was a fruitful exchange of institutional practices, particularly on how both Chambers apply key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure progress and drive organisational growth,” Prof. Adesugba stated in his official report.
“The Caribbean is more than a symbolic ally for Africa, it is a vital economic partner that can help build resilient trade systems and promote shared prosperity in an increasingly uncertain global economy.”
The statement noted that the outcome of the meeting highlighted a shared commitment to sustained communication, trust-building, and the development of future joint programmes aimed at promoting entrepreneurship, investment, and business policy advocacy across regions.
