Trading activities for Thursday after the two-day public holidays closed on a high positive as all share index appreciated by 1.67% to close at 38,585.52 points being 632.87 points higher than 37,952.65 points recorded at the close of trading on Monday.
Similarly, the market capitalisation of equities also appreciated by N330 billion to close at N20.104 trillion as against N19, 774trillion on Monday.
Thursday’s trading saw a total of 203,110,772 shares with market value of N1.724 billion traded in 3,969 deals.
Gainers
TOTAL led the gainers table having gained N116.80k or 10% to close at N184.80k per share. CUTIX followed closely with N0.39k or 9.77% gain to close at N4.38k, then Oando gained N0.32k or 9.73% to close at N3.61k.
Losers
On the other hand, AIICO led the losers list after it lost N0.10k or 8.70% to close at 1.05k, followed by SOVRENINS which lost 0.02k or 6.45% to close at 0.29k and VERITASKAP lost N0.01k or 4% to close at N0.24k.
STERLINBANK was the most traded for the day as it had the biggest volumes of traded shares of 22,486 million shares worth N33, 803 billion followed by UCAP with 16,901million shares worth N115, 108 billion.
Most of the indices performance was positive as four out of the five sub-sectors tracked closed in green. The banking index gained 0.31%, the oil and gas index was positive by 3.11%, the Industrial index closed with a gain of 4.01% and the Consumer good index also gained by 0.07%.
While the Insurance index fell by 1.88%.
