An aspirant for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming Anambra State governorship election, Paul Chukwuma has dismissed recent allegations of money laundering.

The former National Auditor of the APC asserted that these claims are mere distractions orchestrated by political adversaries aimed at undermining his gubernatorial aspirations.

Addressing journalists at his residence in Umueri, Anambra East Local Government Area, Chukwuma refuted reports suggesting that a Federal High Court in Abuja had ordered the forfeiture of $378,000 and a luxury Mercedes Benz GLS 600 Maybach, purportedly linked to illicit activities involving him.

According to him, the funds in question are legitimately earned through his company, Fides Et Ratio Academy Limited, from a project for the Federal Government.

“The money is in the company’s account and was legitimately earned through a contract,” he stated.

He  emphasised that all relevant documentation were currently in the custody of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).

“No one can stop me from using money I have earned legitimately,” he added.

The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, has scheduled the  Anambra State governorship off cycle election for November 8, 2025,
