Anambra State Commissioner for Housing Seeks Collaboration Among Legislators

The Anambra State Commissioner for Housing, Honourable Paulinus Onyeka, has stressed the need for collaboration among the newly elected Anambra State House of Assembly members for effective legislation and healthy development in Anambra State.
Honourable Onyeka disclosed this while addressing the Executives of the Association of Parliamentarian Staff, who paid him a courtesy call at his office, Ministry of Housing in Awka, the State capital.
He emphasized that legislators are the midwives in any government.

Onyeka beckoned on the three arms of government (the Legislative, the Executive and the Judiciary) to work in harmony for sustainable growth and for democratic values to flourish in Anambra and Nigeria in general.

The Commissioner further advised the new legislators and their colleagues nationwide to compliment each other by working as a team and to support their various governors’ initiatives and efforts to transform their States.

He congratulated the new Speaker of the Anambra State 8th House of Assembly, Honourable Somtouchukwu Udeze, and enjoined him to imbibe the tenets of teamwork in carrying out his legislative duties to achieve huge success in the 8th Assembly.

He further called on the 8th Assembly members to always consult wisely with knowledge of the old and be guided by workings of the parliamentary matters.

“The legislative arm is the only institution that will make the Executive and Judiciary to work effectively in a given democratic setting. You should work in unity for the interest of Anambra State,” Onyeka added.
He also revealed that approval has been given for the renovation and reshaping of the State House of Assembly Complex, and very soon it will wear a new look while the State government had the intention to construct legislators quarters in due course.
