Belgium International Lukaku Joins Roma On Loan From Chelsea

Belgium international striker Romelu Lukaku has joined AS Roma on a season-long loan from Chelsea, the Italian Serie A club announced on Thursday.

Lukaku, 30, will be reunited with Roma manager Jose Mourinho, who worked with him at Premier League clubs Chelsea and Manchester United.

“The welcome I’ve received from this club and its fans has excited me and given me even more motivation to give my all for my new team,” Lukaku said.

“I recently got the opportunity to speak with the owners and I was impressed by their ambition. Now we must work, be humble and grow game by game.”

Lukaku had two successful loan spells at Inter Milan, winning the league title and Italian Cup.

Roma have one point from its first two Serie A matches this season and will need Lukaku’s wealth of experience when they host Italian giants AC Milan on Friday.
