Anambra State Teachers Win President’s Award

Anambra State Teachers in Southeast Nigeria have emerged winners of the 2023 President’s Teachers and Schools Excellence Award.

Anambra State won the award during the 2023 World Teachers’ Day Celebration held at the Eagles Square Abuja, demonstrating that Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s commitment to the welfare of teachers and giving the rightful position to the teaching profession has continued to yield the desired dividend.

The teachers, Oraekwu Obiageli Ruth of Carol Standard Convent Ichi, Anambra State, Mrs Amaka Anaekwe, the Diamond Principal of Capital City Secondary School Awka, the state capital and Ekumankama Ijeoma Leticia, Principal of Federal Government College Nise made the State and Nigeria proud.

Anambra State received two cars and one refrigerator as prizes during the event.

One of the cars was presented to Oraekwu Obiageli Ruth, who was adjudged the overall winner-best teacher private school in Nigeria, while Ekumankama Ijeoma Leticia, the Principal of Federal Government College Nise received the other car for emerging the overall winner-best Principal Federal Unity Colleges in Nigeria. The Diamond Principal, Capital City Secondary School Awka Amaka Anaekwe Uchenna took the fourth position, Best Administrator public schools.

Reacting to the development, the Commissioner for Education, Professor Ngozi Chuma-Udeh stated that Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s resolve to return Anambra State schools to smart nature is unparalleled.

Chuma-Udeh stated that the exploits of Anambra State Teachers in the 2023 President’s Teachers and Schools Excellence Award were a demonstration of teachers’ happiness with Governor Soludo’s support for the welfare of teachers.

The five thousand teachers already employed and the three thousand yet to be appointed, are part of Governor Soludo’s efforts to ensure that Anambra State Schools are provided with enough qualified teachers.

The teachers demonstrated that Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s commitment to the welfare of teachers and giving the rightful position to the teaching profession has continued to yield the desired dividend.

Recall that five teachers in the Anambra State school system won the 2022 President’s Teachers and Schools Excellence Award, held at the Eagles Square Abuja.
