He highlighted the need to improve primary healthcare centres, strengthen health financing, expand the healthcare workforce, adopt digital technology, and ensure accountability in the system.

According to him, these steps are necessary to achieve Universal Health Coverage (UHC) in Nigeria.

Speaking on behalf of the Forum of Health Commissioners of Nigeria, the Kano State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf reaffirmed the commitment of state governments to improving healthcare delivery.

He described Primary Health Care as the foundation of a fair and effective health system and stressed that investing at the grassroots level is key to expanding access to quality services.

Both officials restated the Federal Government’s commitment to reforming the health sector.

Former National Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, called for stronger cooperation between the federal and state governments, development partners and the private sector to achieve lasting healthcare reforms.
