APC Women Campaign Team Donates Materials to Flood Victims in Benue State

The All Progressives Congress, APC Women Presidential Campaign Team has donated relief materials and N20 million to victims of flood in Benue State, North-Central Nigeria. 

 

A delegation led by the wife of the APC presidential candidate, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, and the wife of the Vice-Presidential candidate, Hajiya Nana Shettima visited Makurdi, the state capital.

 

The first stop during the visit was the Benue State Government House, where a cash donation of 10 million naira was made and relief items sent by the grand patron of the women’s campaign team and Wife of Nigeria’s President, Dr. Aisha Buhari, were presented to the First Lady of Benue State, Mrs. Eunice Ortom.

 

Senator Oluremi Tinubu while presenting the relief items, said the 10 million Naira cash donation is to support 200 victims with 50,000 Naira each to enable them to engage in small-scale businesses.

 

At the presentation, she told the Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom that they were in the state to commiserate with the people over the unfortunate flood incident that has ravaged several communities.

 

Senator Tinubu further explained that the women’s campaign team has decided to embark on sympathy visits and donate relief materials to states in Nigeria affected by flood before it kickstarts the 2023 presidential campaigns.

 

In his response, the Benue State governor, Dr. Samuel Ortom, appreciated the delegation for identifying with the victims through the state government despite belonging to different political parties.

 

Thereafter, the delegation was received by Benue APC stalwarts led by the gubernatorial candidate, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, where they further commiserated with the people and made an additional donation of 10 million naira to relieve the sufferings of victims.

 

Earlier,  Hajiya Nana Shettima had, led a delegation to Kogi state, where cash and relief materials were also donated to flood victims.
