ASPHCDA holds entry, stakeholders engagement meetings with eHealth Africa

The Anambra State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (ASPHCDA) has held an entry and stakeholders engagement meeting with eHealth Africa on its technical assistance for COVID-19 Vaccine Deployment Project in the state.
The meeting which was held at the ASPHCDA office, Awka had in attendance, representatives of the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA), eHealth Africa Partners, and the ASPHCDA team.

 

 

The technical assistance for the COVID-19 Vaccine Deployment project is intended to support the Government and its partners to ensure optimal management of COVID-19 vaccination programmes through the integration and leveraging of existing platforms.
It aims to provide technical assistance services for the COVID-19 Vaccine delivery, specifically on planning, coordination, and strategy by setting up a structure for optimal management of the COVID-19 vaccination programme.
It also strengthens existing management capacity and strengthening the use of the existing platforms.

 

 

The Executive Secretary, ASPHCDA, Pharmacist Chisom Uchem while welcoming the team to Anambra State, expressed gratitude for having them to work in the state. She assured them of the state’s support and active participation in the success of the project.  Pharm Uchem who was represented at the event by the Director of Disease Control and Immunization Department, Dr. Nnamdi Placid Uliagbafusi noted that the Agency would do its part while playing its role as the programme unfolds.
The Manager, eHealth Nigeria, Mr. Toju Ogele noted that they were basically in the state as Nigerians to support Nigerians to live healthy lives.
“This we will be doing using the COVID-19 vaccination and Routine immunization (RI) as an entry point.” 
He explained that areas of their support would be coordination and technical expertise.
“A lot of what we will be doing revolves around assessment which is intended to aid us to determine more types of support to give the state and also aids us in achieving the desired results. 
We want to work with you to determine the activities that need our support as it will be a collaborative effort with the state.”
“Basically, assessment is key for us and we want the state in charge, driving the process while holding partners accountable. We will be working with you till the end of the year, so it is important that we build this relationship,” he added.

 

 

The SouthEast Zonal Coordinator, eHealth, Mr. ThankGod Nyeche, explained that the project was funded by GAVI. He listed out the project overview, goal and result areas, deliverables, key project activities and updates, state-level support, and next steps.
