Bayelsa Queens thrashed Ekiti Queens 4-1 in the ongoing Betsy Obaseki Women Football Tournament (BOWFT) holding at the University of Benin Sports Stadium.

Following their 1-0 win over Confluence Queens, the Prosperity Girls improved on their performance in the quarter-final game with a fantastic result.

The Prosperity Girls had earlier this week announced their withdrawal from the competition, but rescinded the decision after the intervention of organizers of the tournament.

Chinyere Igboamalu opened the goal account in the 6th minute before Blessing Abiola made it 2-0 in the 24th minute and Ekiti Queens pulled one back to reduce the deficit.

Mercy Itimi ended any hopes of the opponents when she scored a brilliant goal in the 42nd minute to bring score to 3-1 in a game watched by the Pastor Robin Angonimi Apreala-led Management of Bayelsa Queens FC while Dooshima Tarnum got the fourth goal in the 73rd minute to wrap off the game.

The Prosperity Girls dominant performance proved enough to earn them the deserved victory, creating an avenue for another encounter in the semi-final on Monday.
