Benue State Assembly Confirms 17 Commissioner Nominees 

The Benue State House of Assembly has confirmed 17 commissioner nominees whose names were earlier sent to it by Governor Hyacinth Alia for screening.

The Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Mr Aondona Dajoh, during the plenary on Thursday in Makurdi, sought the confirmation of each of the 17 commissioner nominees before the House.

“Following the affirmation of each of the nominees by members of the House, they all stand confirmed,” said Dajoh.

He appreciated members of the House for taking out time from their recess to return and carry out the important assignment to move the State forward.

The speaker called on the commissioner designates to see their appointments as a call to duty for humanity and give their best to help the Governor to deliver on his campaign promises.

Those screened and confirmed are Mrs Joy Luga – Gboko Local Govt; Barr. Omale Omale – Apa Local Govt; Pharmacist Yarmar Ortese – Guma Local Govt; Pastor Frederick Ikyaan – Gwer West Local Govt; and Mr Ogwu Odoh – Ogbadibo Local Govt.

Others are Mr Kwaghgba Amande- Katsina Ala Local Govt; Mr Mathew Abo – Ukum Local Govt; Mr Itiza Imojime – Buruku Local Govt; Mr Aondowase Kunde – Konshisha Local Govt; Prof. Moses Ogbaji – Oju Local Govt; Barr. Matthew Shaagee – Ushongo Local Govt; Mr Mike Ogblegba – Otukpo Local Govt; Mrs Ann Itodo – Okpokwu Local Govt; Barr. Fidelis Mnyin – Makurdi LG; Rt. Hon. Ikyange Terkimbir – Ushongo Local Govt; Mr Nick Eworo – Obi Local Govt, and Mr Awuna Orpiin – Tarka Local Govt.

The House further adjourned until the 23rd of August 2023.
