Borno State Education Trust Fund Constructs, Rehabilitates Schools

The Borno State Education trust fund was established on the 2nd of December 2019 under the present administration of Professor Babagana Umara Zulum the executive Governor of Borno State.

The core mandate of the trust fund includes but is not limited to the rehabilitation, development and consolidation of education at all levels in the state, with much emphasis on the provision and maintenance of essential, physical infrastructure for teaching and learning.

In line with that, the commission has successfully completed rehabilitation works on existing structures in five schools while new classrooms were constructed. View pictures below:

  1. Shehu Sanda Kyarimi Primary and Junior Secondary School.  Construction (2) block of (12) classrooms completely re-modelled (13) blocks of 26 classrooms, a principal office (2) stores, (6) compartment of VIP toilets provided garden and landscape with perimeter fence.

 

  1. Shehu Sanda Kyarimi Government Day Secondary Sch.

constructed (2) blocks of (12) classrooms, remodelled and reconstructed (8) blocks of (16) classrooms, (2) laboratory, examhall, library, principal office, staffroom, school mosque and perimeter fence.

 

  1. Goni Damgari Primary and Junior Secondary School.

Remodelled (6) blocks of (12) classrooms, perimeter fence and constructed (4) compartment of VIP toilets & refurbish the solar energy source.

 

  1. Army Primary And  Junior Secondary School Maimalari Barracks.

Constructed (1) blocks of (4) classrooms, headmistress office, store, build (3) compartment of VIP toilets and constructed (1) block consisting of (2) offices, staffroom, toilets (which are temporarily being used by the Army) and completely fenced perimeter.

 

  1. Mustapha Umar El- Kanemi Qur’anic Integrated Model School.

Re-modelled (4) blocks of (8) classrooms, (1) block of examination hall (1) block of (4) language laboratories, provided borehole and overhead tank, constructed (2) compartment of VIP toilets and completely fenced perimeter

Governor Zulum,  announced the recruitment of 3,000 qualified teachers that will be deployed to various schools to boost the education sector before the end of the year.

He explained that the Trust Fund is providing instructional materials and equipment, academic staff training and development as well as facilitating research and publication in schools and educational institutions across Borno State.

The Chairperson  of the commission Professor  Hauwa Abdu Biu, in her welcome address, expressed gratitude to Governor Zulum for giving her team opportunity to serve Borno. She assured of their sustained commitment towards enhancing the quality of education in the state.

Executive Secretary, Borno State Education Trust Fund, Maina Yaumi highlighted the activities of the board in the last one year. These include: the rehabilitation, development and consolidation of education at all levels in the state with emphasis on the provision and maintenance of essential physical infrastructure for teaching and learning.
