The TY Buratai Humanity Care Foundation has commended Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, for donating ₦150 million to the families of three military officers killed in recent counter-insurgency operations.
The commendation came from the foundation established by Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai (Rtd), former Chief of Army Staff and Nigeria’s immediate past Ambassador to the Republic of Benin.
In a statement signed by the foundation’s chairman, Ibrahim Dahiru Danfulani, Governor Zulum was praised for ensuring that each of the bereaved families received ₦50 million.

The governor personally visited the families of the late Lieutenant Colonels Umar Farouq, Salihu Iliyasu, and Aliyu Saidu Paiko in Abuja, Niger, and Kano States, where he offered condolences and acknowledged the officers’ sacrifice in the fight against insurgency.
General Buratai, who serves as the foundation’s Grand Patron, lauded the governor’s commitment to the welfare of military families and residents of Borno State.
He extended his condolences to the families of the fallen officers and soldiers who lost their lives in service to the nation.
During the visits, Governor Zulum reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting bereaved families, including the provision of scholarships for the orphaned children of fallen personnel.
He pledged to extend similar gestures to other affected families as part of sustained efforts to address the needs of those impacted by the counter-insurgency campaign.
