Sorting and counting of votes have begun in Saturday’s legislative by-elections in Edo Central Senatorial district and Ovie Northeast-Ovie Southwest Federal constituency.
Our correspondent observed Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission sorting and counting votes in the presence of interested voters, security officials and party agents.
At polling unit 007, Owina primary school, Ovie Northeast local government, election officials were seen counting votes and announcing the results in the presence of all.
There was appreciable turnout of voters in the by-election and expectations remain high as to the outcome of the polls.
Results from the various polling units will be collated at a central collation centre before the final announcement of the winner.
