CCAN Congratulates the 23rd Inspector General Police

The Crime Correspondents Association of Nigeria (CCAN) heartily congratulates the acting Inspector General of Police, IGP, OLATUNJI DISU on his appointment as the 23rd Indigenous IGP to pilot the activities of the entire police for better internal security architecture.

This was in a statement signed by the Association Secretary Comrade Babatunde Ayeni, the appointment is a testament to years of professionalism, diligence, excellent leadership quality and unwavering commitment to the advancement of Nigeria Police Force to meet up international standard.

The statement revealed that over the years, Acting IGP Disu has distinguished himself as a Super Cop when he served in the IRT, PSO to retired IG Egbetokun, CP Rivers state and FCT, AIG Alagbon Annex among other professional positions he held before his new appointment. Also a Judo Black belter to his credit.

As crime correspondents and critical stakeholders in the security and justice sectors, “We are confident that Acting IGPs wealth of experience, rich academic and professional background, coupled with his love for media throughout his areas of operations will further enhance the cordial relationship between the Nigeria Police Force and the media.

“We have no doubt in the acting IGP’s will deepen the culture of openness, inclusivity, and prompt response to constant media engagements needed for effective policing and credible public relations.”

The Association however pledges its continuous support and with NPF spokesperson’s office in the collective task of informing the public, shaping positive narratives, and projecting the giant strides of the Nigeria Police Force in the fight against crime, law enforcement, and internal security management.

CCAN therefore, pray for wisdom, strength, and divine guidance for Acting IGP Disu as he was decorated by President Bola Tinubu and that this important role given to police boss will be carried out successful throughout his stay in office.

The association also look forward to working closely with the Police Chief in the service to the nation.
