Christmas: Nasarawa Speaker tells Nigerians to Ensue Division

The Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon Danladi Jatau has urged Christians and other Nigerians to embrace positive things that would promote unity, peace and development in the country.

This he said Nigerians should shun any act that will divide the people in the society and embrace each other in peace, unity and harmony.

The Speaker stated this in his Christmas message during church service at ECWA Goodnews, Garaku, Kokona Local Government Area of the state.

Speaker Jatau urged Christians and other Nigerians to use the Christmas period to demonstrate love, peace and alms giving for the overall development of the country.

Today, we are  celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, all of us we know why we are celebrating the day. Our lord Jesus  Christ preaches love, peace, unity and alms giving,” he said.

The Speaker urged Christians and other Nigerians to shun divisive tendencies in the interest of peace and for the overall development of the country.

According to him, as Christians, we should do away with the things that divide and destroy us as a nation.

Jatau also urged Christians and other Nigerians to extend hands of friendship to the needy in the society in order to improve on their standard of living.

” I urge you to share the little one you have with others that do not have as a sign of love to them,” he said

The Speaker charged Christians to pray for President Bola Tinubu, Gov. Abdullahi Sule and other leaders to succeed.

We appreciate your prayers and support at all times and I urge you to continue to pray for  Engr.  A A Sule, State Assembly and other leaders to succeed,” he stated

He also appealed to the youths not to indulge in anything that will affect their lives and the society in general.

Jatau called on members of the State Executive Council to work in synergy and contribute positively to the development of the state.

Meanwhile, Rev. Bitrus Kaya, Reverend in-charge of ECWA Goodnews Church, Garaku, Kokona LGA urged Christians and other Nigerians to always help the poor during and after Christmas.

Kaya made the call while presiding over Christmas Church Service at ECWA GoodNews Garaku, Kokona Local Government Area.

He took his reading from John 3: 16- 23 with the topic “The Significance of Jesus Christ Coming to this World.”

“Today is Christmas and  Christmas centred on love, peace and to share with the poor and other less privileged ones.

“I am begging you, please and please share your food with those that they don’t have in order to improve on  their standard of living and to give them a sense of belonging,” he said

The man of God also prayed for President Bola Tinubu, Governor Sule, Speaker Danladi Jatau, security agencies, and other leaders to succeed.

Kaya urged the youths and other Nigerians to shun drug abuse, alcohol, smoking, and other negative acts capable of tarnishing their image and that of their families and society.

He further prayed for the nation’s peace, unity, progress, and development.
