Civil Servants have been been urged to key into the ongoing reforms in the Civil Service for innovation and productivity.

Senior Pastor, Family Worship Centre, Pastor Sarah Omakwu said this in her charge at the annual Civil Service Week, thanksgiving Service, in Abuja, Nigeria.

According to her, productivity will enhance the total transformation of the Civil Service which in turn will lead to nation building.

Be honest, be sincere, do your work, rescue Nigeria, bring us out of this pit we are in by doing good work, by being productive, being efficient, being incorruptibl, be incorruptible. Be honest, be sincere. And serve our country with all your heart and with integrity”.

She also enjoined Civil Servants to cooperate with the Head of Service to fight against corruption and be the change they desire to be.

Let files not get lost, let people not pay before they get services done. Remember that the Bible says we are all going to stand before the judgment seat of Christ. And we will give account of everything we have done in the flesh.

“And now that you are in front of us, I want to plead with you by the mercies of God, that you be the change, that no file hides under you, no bribery is brought to you, because we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. I will stand before the judgment seat of Christ, and I will be judged on what I do with this position. I will be judged by what I do, and you will be judged,” she emphasised.

Responding, the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs Esther Didi Walson-Jack acknowledged the unwavering faithfulness of God, His sustaining grace and divine guidance.

She said God’s hand has been evident in the Civil Service through policy implementations, reforms, and the daily contributions of dedicated men and women who work tirelessly behind the scenes to keep the government machinery running.

According to her, there’s every reason to give thanks in all circumstances by the lifting of voices for the privilege to serve the nation, the strength to fulfil duties, and the impact of the collective labour in advancing Nigeria’s development.

We are here today because God has been our Builder and our Keeper. We thank God for the gift of creativity, innovation, and reforms, which have improved service delivery efficiency, driven transformative progress, and driven the much-needed transformation in the Service”.

The Head of Service further commended President Bola Tinubu whose confidence in Civil Service reform efforts has supported policy backing, strategic direction, and encouragement.

Mrs Walson-Jack also appreciated the support and dedication of development partners, both at home and abroad, who have stood by the Service through funding, capacity building and technical support.

She added that every achievement in the Civil Service is by the grace of God.
