This was contained in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer, Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board (NSUBEB), Gana Lawal Ahmed and made available to Journalists in the state.
“The concept of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) Smart School will deploy modern methods of education through ICTs by using various interactive modules like computer, tablets, interactive whiteboard, projectors, videos, cameras and School Management Software solutions for the learning and management process.
“Each Smart School is provided with the minimum operation requirements for efficient and effective delivery such as; Physical infrastructures, Hardware, Furniture, Software, Smart Classrooms, Library/e-library, Computer, and Science laboratories and workshops”.
The school provides teachers and learners access to a wide range of educational resources available on the internet and also active participants in the teaching and learning process.
“The teacher plays the role of facilitator, helping learners to build their capacity to discover new knowledge, acquire new skills, and imbibe positive values.
“Every model of the Smart School is a complex designed to accommodate, ECCDE, Primary School, and the Junior Secondary School Sections each with its Management facilities,“ Dan Azumi noted.
The NSUBEB chairman, further explained that Smart School learning becomes democratized rather than ” imposed “ and the school is “wall-less” as teaching and learning extend beyond the borders of the school through e-learning capability.
